Our Story

The Ship has been standing proudly on the corner of Hanson and New Cavendish Street since 1772.

Originally licensed in 1777, when it was known as The Centurian, this Grade II listed building has been a familiar face in an ever-changing neighbourhood for over 200 years. 

Located in London’s bohemian Fitzrovia, the Ship has stayed traditional with its decor, drinks & values. Family owned & run for over 60 years, it‘s one of London’s last remaining independent pubs.

Just 5 minutes walk from Oxford Street, Warren Street, Goodge Street & Great Portland Street, it’s a hidden historical gem in the heart of London’s West End.
